PUBLISHER'S MESSAGE

In our winter issue, I detailed Prudence International Magazine’s exhaustive efforts to gain access to the CVS Caremark distribution network. I am happy to report that those efforts, which were inspired by the many requests we received from you, have borne fruit. Many of our dedicated readers and partners can now get copies of the magazine from a nearby CVS store.

My most sincere thanks to you for the emails, and rest assured we will continue to take them very seriously; they contain so many useful suggestions and constructive criticisms.

Take, for example, the plentitude of emails from members of the academic community, particularly our African students. They, too, are demanding outlets for Prudence. And they, too, will taste satisfaction. Friends, look forward to getting copies of Prudence Magazine at Barnes & Nobles stores in the near future.

Distribution outlets represent only one of the reasons this edition is special to me. Another is the debut of our Education Department, also brought on by requests from our readers in academia. We have worked diligently in responding to your entreaties, and we are happy to announce that our Education Department is here to stay. We will do stories that address institutions and individuals engaged in the education field. All too often our scholars, who are located in various citadels of learning across the globe, go without the praise and appreciation that their efforts warrant. In this department you will be reading about our scholars, and about the institutions that embrace them and provide tremendous support systems. We will also address the realities facing countrymen and women as international students.

Also, in this issue, we take extreme pleasure in recognizing the efforts of the mayor of Columbus, Michael B. Coleman. He has done so much in embracing the African community as an integral part of the Columbus community at large. I also want to express my special and personal gratitude to the mayor for the way he, his staff and city opened their arms to Prudence during our visit there. Believe me! The mayor has successfully harnessed the energies of various minority groups in the city in preparation for tomorrow’s challenges. Very significant is his work to ensure the development of African businesses in the city while encouraging and inviting more African entrepreneurs to come and do business in Columbus.

For our part, as you have come to expect, Prudence will always put the spotlight on such genuine individuals, people who are passionate about our development and about encouraging us to have a positive impact on the communities in which we live. We can place our interests in such hands when we go to the polls to cast our votes. I also commend the African businesses in Columbus for appreciating a visionary leader who identifies with them and recognizes them as a relevant and functional minority group in Columbus.

This edition reflects a major improvement over our previous issues, and I thank our board of directors for its continued support in ensuring our continuity and helping make such improvements possible. With the board's encouragement and support we have been able to tighten up on our graphics and images in this issue. As we go into the distribution network of national and international distributors, we will continue to evolve to meet the challenges we will meet as the only serious and credible print medium whose fingers are truly on the pulse of Africa.

Do not forget to send your comments, criticisms and observations to me at publisher@prudenceinternational.com. You will definitely hear from me because your opinions count.

Happy Reading.
